Structural steel detailing
We detail structural steel for fabricators in Texas and across the US: schools, hospitals, churches, offices and retail. Every member, connection and bolt goes into a 3D model checked against the contract drawings, then out to your shop as shop drawings, erection drawings and files.
How we detail it
A job starts with the whole contract set: the structural sheets, and the architectural sheets wherever steel shows up on them, because lintels, roof frames, canopies and stairs are often drawn only there. Missing or conflicting information goes to you as RFIs before the approval drawings go out.
Approval drawings go to the GC and the engineer of record. When the comments come back, we pick them up and release clean shop drawings, erection drawings and anchor bolt plans, with material lists and, on request, NC / DSTV files for the saw and drill line.

Questions
- What comes with a structural job?
- Shop drawings, erection drawings, anchor bolt plans and material lists. The 3D model (IFC) and NC / DSTV files are available on request.
- Do you detail joist and deck connections?
- We detail the steel they bear on and connect to: joist connections, embeds, roof openings and RTU frames, as shown on the contract drawings.
- What do you need to give a quote?
- The contract drawings (structural, and architectural where steel shows up), the specs if you have them, and your bid date.
- How fast can you start?
- Right after we receive the purchase order. Detailing usually takes two to four weeks depending on the size of the job and how complete the drawings are.
