Steel detailing services

Stair, railing & misc. metals detailing

Stairs, guardrails, handrails, ladders, bollards, canopies and lintels: the pieces everyone sees and touches. We detail them so they fit on the first try, with shop drawings and full bills of material your shop can cut and weld from.

How we detail it

Most of this steel is drawn on the architectural sheets, not the structural ones: stair sections, rail details, canopy elevations, the lintel schedule. We read the whole set and tie each piece back to the framing it hangs from, so stringers, landing supports and rail posts land where the structure is.

A stair gets an erection sheet with the plan, sections, connection details and every mark, plus shop drawings for the stringers, landings and rail assemblies. From a single flight to stacked stair towers, hung landings, picket guards, wall rails and roof-hatch ladders.

Questions

Do you detail pan stairs?
Yes: pan stairs and steel stairs, with landings, guards and rails, from one flight to a stair tower floor to floor.
Can a stair or rail be sealed?
Yes. When the permit or the owner asks for it, we deliver the drawings sealed by a Texas-licensed professional engineer and include it in the quote.
What do you need to give a quote?
The contract drawings (structural, and architectural where steel shows up), the specs if you have them, and your bid date.
How fast can you start?
Right after we receive the purchase order. Detailing usually takes two to four weeks depending on the size of the job and how complete the drawings are.
